Dr Ralf Rauker - performance maker, lecturer and acting teacher

 

Ralf Rauker studied acting (1981-’86) and received a two years MA scholarship in Performing Arts (1988 – ’90) at the University of Arts Berlin/Germany. He worked at the Mime Center Berlin from 1991 –‘96 on a long- term research project on the actors training Meyerhold’s Biomechanics and was a lecturer at the Moving Acad- emy for Performing Arts from 1993 – 2000. In 1995 he started his career as a theatre maker and director and has directed and devised 20 theatre and performance projects since then.

 

In 2003 he moved to Perth in Western Australia to work as a fulltime lecturer, first in “Theatre Arts” at WAAPA and later in “Contemporary Performance” at Edith Cow- an University. In 2005 he enrolled in a PhD in Perform- ing Arts at WAAPA and successfully graduated in 2011. In 2013 Ralf Rauker started his business Workshops on the Move - Theatre and Performance Training and is available to teach in Australia and abroad.
